blog-2008 December 3, 2025

There are quite a lot of games on my steam that I completed 100% and got all the achievements in them, but for various reasons I can’t find words about them for full reviews. That is why I decided to try, so to speak, a column where I will take, for example, 10 similar games, and briefly talk about them.

Unlike full reviews, each game will not have a specific structure, but I will try to say at least a few words about each aspect.

Also, I had a certain story with some games from this section. At some point, I received achievements in them dishonestly, searched on the Internet for all sorts of saves and the like.

After a while, my gamer conscience finally tormented me, and I had to write out all the achievements separately for myself, and knock them out in an honest way. It was especially difficult for me to achieve cumulative achievements, because each time it was problematic to write down how much I collected, killed, and discovered.

However, in the end, I completed these games 100%, closed them completely, went over all the baseboards with a toothbrush and left quite a few hours of my life in them. The moral of this story is, don’t repeat my mistakes, earn achievements honestly. These may seem like no big deal at first, but they’re actually very helpful in tracking your progress and more. And in general it will be more correct.

Of course, there are exceptions when the achievement is bugged and does not count, but that’s a completely different story.

As you have already noticed, the section is called “Add to Cart”. We will have two baskets, one for trash, the other for shopping, and I will assign each game to one of them.

Put on your pink beret, tune your lute, grab your baskets, let’s go watch and rate the games.

The Forest

The first game on our list is The Forest. This is a survival simulator, with, I would say, elements of horror, which makes the game very atmospheric.

In the story, you and your son fly on a plane, crash, and then wake up on board the destroyed plane. The whole point of the plot is that you need to find your son.

Throughout the game you will be building, searching and preparing food, water, finding notes, new weapons, new tools, and so on. Opponents include large predators and a local tribe of cannibals. Cannibals are also different, armored, fast, with spears and without. There’s also someone else, but I won’t spoil that.

You will spend a lot of time in the game in caves, in which you will find both supplies and bodies of people, which will be a little tense at first.

The game in its genre has become, one might say, a classic. It’s especially cool and fun to play in co-op. Cannibals will pray that you don’t see them while you and your friend ride on turtle shells on your homemade roller coaster.

By the way, yes, the game has crafting, quite varied, and even just building your own urban village is very entertaining.

In terms of achievements in general there is nothing special, you just need to try to eat everything that is in the game, craft everything and the like, a standard set. In the end, of course, you may get a little bored, but most likely you will only have to suffer a little and all the achievements will be in your pocket. In any case, no one canceled the guides; the community for this game is very active.

However, I also had some achievements that didn’t work, I had to create a new game because all the collectibles were simply not generated on the previous map.

We put The Forest in the shopping cart and move on.

DISTRAINT: Deluxe Edition

Distraint has a special place in my heart. I’ve played through this game several times, and the first one was about 4 years ago, if I’m not mistaken. Back then I played exclusively in large projects and avoided indie games. And it was this game that became the turning point when I realized how wrong I was, and how many good games had passed me by.

Distraint is a purely story-based game. Namely psychological horror. It has pixel graphics, but this does not interfere with immersion at all, and may even help. The game will tell you a story about a man who wants to enter into a contract with a banking company, but to do this he must fulfill several of their instructions, namely, confiscate property from several people.

To be honest, I never even thought about such a topic before this game. And after completing it I fell into a mini-depression for several hours.

The game was developed by just one person, and I think there should be many more games like this, so that through characters like Price, this is the main character of Distraint, people could feel what these characters feel, what they are sad about, what they worry about, what makes them smile, what their moral guidelines are, what their actions lead to.

In my opinion, such games broaden our horizons and allow us to become more empathic towards other people. If there were more of this in our world, everyone would become a little kinder.

In terms of achievements, the game does not bother the user, all achievements can be completed in one playthrough, if you look in advance at what moments what needs to be done, it will not be a spoiler for you, and will save time. Although the game can be completed in 3-4 hours, so even two playthroughs will not take much time.

The game definitely goes into the shopping cart and we move on.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter

To be honest, I don’t know which part of all these games about Sherlock Holmes this is. I noticed it, if I’m not mistaken, either after some review, or after watching the series with Benedict Cumberbatch. But in the end I passed it.

The plot here is about solving a whole series of cases. I’m afraid I’ll spoil it, so I’ll speak in general terms. Overall the plot is good, in the spirit of the original stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. But I didn’t feel like a detective.

The thing is, when I hear – Sherlock. I have associations of sinister mysteries, murders and adventures with Watson. And the game seems to be hinting and trying to give you a choice and a sense of non-linearity, but it does it poorly, in the end everything leads you to one path, along a certain route, and the ways to achieve the goal are also prescribed in advance.

You don’t need to feel like a cool detective, or rather the game doesn’t give you this, it seems to tell you that you are a detective and asks you to take her word for it. After which she literally pushes you to do the necessary things so that you can finally solve the riddle. Although we do not know the whole history of development and all the opportunities that the developers had, it is possible that we have this very cool project.

In general, as I already said, I’m not a fan of this series of games, and perhaps everything should be exactly as I described, and that’s okay. It’s just that my expectations did not coincide with reality, and it would be wrong to evaluate the game in such a way.

All achievements can be obtained in one playthrough if you try, there is nothing supernatural there.

We put the game in the shopping cart, but we are waiting for a good discount.

Peace, Death!

Peace, Death! Well, this is really pussy. I don’t quite understand these types of games, even for smartphones. In my opinion, this came into our world completely by accident and should not exist.

The essence of the game is that you play as death, people come to you, and based on certain signs you decide whether they will go to hell or heaven. You have limited time for this. Also, then various mini-games open up, if you can call them that. There’s no talk about the atmosphere in the game, just an ordinary poke.

The only thing I liked was the many references to modern culture, TV series, films and various characters. But this is too little, and it doesn’t make the game last.

The achievements are hemorrhoids, and in some places you will have to work hard even with guides for their implementation.

A-and-and, this is the first game that goes into the trash bin, even despite its low cost.

Fallout Shelter

The road led me to this game solely because I had nothing to do. There is no plot as such, the gameplay is extremely simple, and, in fact, all you will do is log into the game for 10 minutes a day. But if you want all the achievements, then you need to do this for several years. Well, or make yourself several hundred cases, because the game is free, and therefore decided that for achievements it can blatantly demand people to donate to this trash heap. Actually, that’s what I did, because without real investments or promotion you won’t be able to do this.

Achievements, as I already said, are nonukcasinosites.co.uk/fast-withdrawal-casinos/ donated, and those that are not donated are cumulative. And almost all of them are like that, they just extort your free time and money.

In short, I think it’s already clear that we throw the game into the trash with a three-pointer and never think about it again.

Lara Croft GO

Lara Croft GO is like Fallout Shelter but not Fallout Shelter. What I mean is that the game blatantly uses the high-profile brand on which it was created, and without it, few would even notice it. But since this is a game in the Tomb Rider universe, okay, I once decided and played this something.

In general, I don’t see anything bad in this game, except that it’s called Lara Croft, there’s no spirit of adventure here. An ordinary puzzle with its own mechanics, nothing new, but nothing terrible either. Goes for a C.

There’s nothing unusual in terms of achievements either, everything comes out as you progress through the levels. And if difficulties arise, there are always guides in the steam community.

Lara Croft is sent to the shopping cart, but at a big discount or in a bundle with other parts of Tomb Rider.

100 cats

One hundred cats. Let’s cram several here under one game at once. Namely: one hundred alien cats, one hundred Asian cats, one hundred capitalist cats, one hundred Christmas cats, one hundred dinosaur cats, one hundred happy cats, one hundred Istanbul cats, one hundred March cats, one hundred ninja cats, one hundred robot cats, one hundred space cats.

New and new parts dedicated to different topics are published periodically. We will also add future parts here, because it simply doesn’t make sense to review each one, they are all identical.

The whole point of these games is to find one hundred cats in a hand-drawn picture, where they are hidden. The games are simple, cute, and worth attention.

Achievements in the game are the simplest, find all the cats and you will get 100% achievements.

We put all these games in the shopping cart, especially since they are absolutely free.

Nephise Begins

If someone is able to explain to me why I spent several hours of my life walking around a virtual forest, collecting fly agaric mushrooms, observing all kinds of game, twirling statues and fucking with a soap fox, then I ask you to write in the comments.

Perhaps you can play this something for achievements, but nothing more. And for such purposes it is better to find a more suitable game.

I suggest not to dwell on this “masterpiece”, throw it in the trash and move on.

ISLANDERS

ISLANDERS offers the player to methodically build buildings in two modes.

In sandbox mode, you can build your dream muhosransk with balloons and mosques, while leisurely drinking beer and eating curry.

In the second mode it’s almost the same, only for points. There are buildings that next to each other give more points, and others that, on the contrary, give fewer points. Having collected a certain number, you can move to the next island or complete the current one. There are 21 in total.

In terms of achievements, I can’t say that it’s super easy like in cats, but it’s not very difficult either, you just need to spend some time. As I already said, guides can help.

The game is definitely worth the money, you can take it at least to wait for a friend in discord until he goes away and doesn’t come back for the 10th day.

In general, we put it in the shopping cart and move on to the last, tenth game.

Portal

Portal. Here I think it would be superfluous to tell anything, everyone already knows everything. But just in case, let’s refresh your memory, you go through level after level in which you solve puzzles, in your arsenal there is a portal gun that shoots blue and orange portals that connect, and you can pass between them, and also fly, throw objects there, in general, do everything that your imagination allows you.

This game is even better in terms of plot than most of the games that currently exist, although the emphasis here is on gameplay. Well, in terms of gameplay, I would say this is a standard, an indicator of how interesting puzzles should be made. A game that has become an example for many studios and a source of inspiration for many creators.

For 100% of achievements you will have to put your hands on your shoulders, but overall everything is not bad, in some places even exciting, and definitely not boring.

Open the portal to the shopping cart and put Portal there.

RESULTS

This is how the combo review turned out, write if we should make a continuation of this section, because there are still similar games, and over time I think the list will increase. Like, subscribe, and read my other articles, thanks for reading.

Oh, how dashingly, they immediately threw down minuses. Only us with a beard don’t understand at all why? Because there doesn’t seem to be anything criminal to throw it in red like that. But okay.

Dear author, we would like to advise you two things. Purely subjective. Purely to our taste and color.

First of all, expand your opinion a bit regarding games to make it clearer: why, in your opinion, the game goes into this or that basket. And, secondly, in our opinion, games are still worth taking into the category, united by something. Elementary, genre or year of release. Although it’s better, of course, to come up with a more original reason for the unification than we did)

And also. It’s a little unclear, why the point about achievements?? We didn’t see any special connection to them. Perhaps they looked poorly.

First of all, hacking achievements is terrible. There is no justification for this, and besides, it is unclear why all this was told.

The man himself told the story about the achievements that he hacked them. But over time I realized that I couldn’t do that and kicked it out again. And for this we must somehow reproach him? Do you think it’s right?

Secondly, the author cannot write texts that are interesting to read; his text looks like a bland pile of words that are boring to read. There is room for development, but for now I want to minus this, close it and not remember it in third line.

Here we can partly agree. However, experience in composing letters into words, and words into sentences comes with time. Therefore, it seems to us, we should always give a person a chance. Better chance along with constructive criticism.

We ourselves wrote about the third point, but we completely agree with the fourth, in principle.

Fifthly, for such brief summaries that he wrote here about each game on the site there is a review section, this would go well there, in a blog format and in a bunch – some kind of dull crap uninteresting to read. Brief impressions ala reviews are regularly tried to drag into blogs and such attempts are regularly stopped by sending the authors of this to reviews, but TS decided that if there are many of these in one blog, then this is already normal. But no, it doesn’t work that way)

Why doesn’t it work?? Why won’t a person help you try a new format?? Expand reviews, explain personal implications, unite with a common idea. And smoothly move the thought to the sixth point.

Sixth, the “Refand” section on the site still exists, why so brazenly steal the format, and even more brazenly post it here on the same site

Refand. If we’re not mistaken, it’s a little about something else. About indie games that are about to come out. Yes there are similarities. However, what’s so criminal about it if you’re inspired by someone else’s idea and reassemble it for yourself?? Or do we have some kind of taboo on categories, on formats?? If so, then what right do we have to write game reviews?. This format was not invented by us.

In general, even taking into account your criticism, which we partly agree with, we see no reason to downvote it so much. Something like that, in general)

Um, there’s not even anything to answer here. Reproach a person for admitting his mistake. Powerful. Here you just have to shrug your shoulders from this position, unfortunately.

This is a format of reviews that are written in large numbers one after another. And the same thing about expansion, the general idea and subtext is simply not there.

If the author takes into account the recommendations, then the format will sparkle with new colors, as it seems to us.

Why not? Well, sort of. We are ready to read reviews from different people, but we are not ready to read conditional referrals from different people. Some strange position. Let’s then, roughly speaking, divide the authors of blogs on SG into castes. Like, you and you write reviews, you and you write series stories, and so on. And no one has the right to write on these sections except them. Well, this is stupid, don’t you think??)

You can wave. There seem to be no problems here.

Ummmmmm… ok, I’ll just leave this here.
People keep entire lists of games with beautiful achievements to decorate their profiles. There are many games that are specifically made to be as crap as possible, where the first time you start you get thousands of achievements that are used only to decorate your profile. Most people with a high level of steam decorate their profiles by investing hours and money into it. If you are not specifically interested in this layer, you don’t have to go into other people’s monasteries with your own charter

Don’t worry, my beard and I at least appreciated this story) And now we’ll be waiting for your blogs. We hope you don’t give up creativity and will grow as an author)

Thank you. There’s no reason to quit yet, so I’ll try to continue.
If it’s not too much trouble and you have time, could you rate two more of my blogs, what could be improved or corrected?. Maybe I left something unsaid or went too far somewhere.

Since you and Beard asked, I’ll answer you, maybe TS will read it and draw a conclusion.

First of all, hacking achievements is terrible. There is no justification for this, and besides, it is unclear why all this was told.

Secondly, the author cannot write texts that are interesting to read; his text looks like a bland pile of words that are boring to read. There is room for development, but for now I want to minus this, close it and not remember it in third line.

Thirdly, the content of this text looks like a dry list of facts about the game, it’s in the game, it’s possible in the game, but what follows from this, how it works, whether the author liked it, who the hell knows.

Fourth, there are no screenshots. Reading bare text is uninteresting and difficult, and besides, seeing visual screenshots from the game you are reading about helps you digest the information and gives a better understanding of the topic of the story. And if these screenshots somehow show what is written in the text, it would be completely bad.

But no, it doesn’t work like that)

Sixth, the “Refand” section on the site still exists, why so brazenly steal the format, and even more brazenly post it here on the same site.

I hope there are enough reasons for the minus and no one will be very upset.

Thanks for your comment. I agree about the more expanded opinion. And as for combining games, they really have nothing in common, they were just lying around on my Steam, and I thought, why not, why can’t this become a general criterion, and a very local one, but that’s how it is. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll take them into account.

If it’s not clear why I wrote this or that thing, then excuse me, you won’t understand. And regarding the “format – reviews – section”, no one forbids writing this on a blog. It’s more convenient for me this way and I wanted it that way, and no one has patented this kind of heading and can’t do it. My business is to share my opinion, your business is to minus this blog, everyone is happy, everyone is happy.

So I didn’t ask you to explain anything to me. As I already said, my job is to write and post. Also, there is no negativity in my comments, if you saw it there, then this is not a problem with my comment, but with your perception of the messages.

Well, listen. Well, really, stop putting an owl on the globe and give our words the meaning that you would like to see there) So as not to be unfounded, this is your thesis, not ours with a beard:

Yes, and you shouldn’t try to catch us, trick us somehow. Although we are not strong in debates, in this cat-and-mouse verbiage, we see a clear provocative hook:

I would like to know these reasons, so that next time I can minus only those who are definitely possible, and not whom I wanted to minus.

By the way, it seems to us that we have quite voluminously expressed our exclusively opinion regarding both the blog and the display of minuses. And we don’t impose it on anyone, as if.

Then you should have chosen another word.

Hurray, at least one of the downvotes went down to the comments and wrote to the author what was wrong with the text. Respect

First of all, hacking achievements is terrible. There is no justification for this, and besides, it is unclear why all this was told.

There are a lot of turkey games where there are achievements with letters or memes, but there is absolutely no desire to go through a crooked game. Why not hack achievements to decorate your profile??

I sit, love, practice. But I have different approaches to different achievements. I love and respect some difficult achievements in normal games. I knock it out periodically. In Payday 2, as an example, he himself has already closed more than a thousand achievements, on different contracts, with different secrets. I got a lot of achievements for difficulty in games in general.

But if the game is made on the knee, costs 10 rubles on Steam, runs on 4070 at 5 fps, but at the same time has achievements with meme pictures – I hack. Because I don’t like to play such games, but to decorate my profile, buying and hacking the game is the way to go

Forgot to answer the last question. Yes, this has nothing to do with the main point, it just happened to me and I decided to share it. I have no one to discuss this with so I decided to add it here.

If it’s not too much trouble and you have time, could you rate two more of my blogs, what could be improved or corrected?. Maybe I left something unsaid or went too far somewhere.

Without any problem. Then on Sunday-Monday we will read the blogs and write our opinion about them in a personal message)

You understand that, roughly speaking, we obviously will not provide an exhaustive list of errors that supposedly allow you to downvote a blog or comment. Because it even sounds a little stupid. It’s just that everyone, depending on their own preferences, principles, worldview, in the end, is free to decide for themselves how to relate to the published article. Pluralism of opinions, as it is fashionable to say now. And that’s great.

It’s really cool that we can discuss some gaming topics, have discussions, pit our beliefs against others in the search for truth. Yes, for example, we did not come to a complete understanding, but we still found common ground. And as it were, neither our position nor yours can be called somehow incorrect. No. They’re just a little different.

I didn’t say they would be similar. I immediately wrote that these were games that were just lying around on my Steam, the general criteria for them was that I got all the achievements in them and did everything.
